Welcome to Blockchain Century this is Philip on March the 27th 2024 and the topic of this episode is Watch what Blackrock is doing. When the biggest of the big guns come knocking at your door only a fool would not pay attention. This brings me once again back to Blackrock

We discussed recently the possibility of a hard fork prompted by wording on their S1 form submitted to the SEC but now there is more interesting wording on their D form submitted last week for a and I quote Blackrock US Dollar Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund Limited

It looks increasingly likely a spot Ethereum ETF will be approved but what does this all mean?

Last year Blackrock CEO Larry Fink talked of the tokenization of all financial assets and they will be on one ledger he said What could that ledger be?

The answer is Ethereum and we know that Blackrock have just seeded their fund on Ethereum with $100 million. Tokenization remains a key focus of Blackrock's digital asset strategy.

This will offer investors important benefits by enabling the issuance of trading ownership on a blockchain, expanding investor access to on-chain offerings, providing instantaneous and transparent settlement and allowing for transfers across platforms.

BNY Mellon will enable interoperability for the fund between digital and traditional markets. Blackrock's Head of Digital Assets Robert Michney said, “We are focused on developing solutions in the digital asset space that help solve real-world problems and are excited to work with Securitize.”

Securitize are Blackrock's transfer agent. Interestingly, they are partnered with Chainlink and Avalanche. So now we have Blackrock on Ethereum, JP Morgan's Onyx on Avalanche and Mastercard on Solana.

It is becoming clearer where the big money flows are likely to be heading.

Solana in line for an ETF? It wouldn't surprise me at all.
